Feedback on DMRC audio alert

Monday, 20 May 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

After Magenta Line, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited public feedback and comments in order to curtail the audio announcements made inside the trains on all the Metro Lines.

The feedback process will start from Monday and will continue till 31st May.

The DMRC took the action after witnessing numbers of complaint from the daily commuters especially the Magenta Line users who complained about the excessive announcements in the metro. The process to cut short the announcements was started on a pilot basis for a period of three months to give a sigh of relief to the passengers. The Magenta Line links Janakpuri West in Delhi to Botanical Garden in Noida.

“The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), after curtailing the number of passenger announcements made inside the trains on its Magenta Line on a trial basis for three months, now invites feedback from the commuters whether to introduce the same practice on all other Lines,” said Anuj Dayal, Executive Director (Corporate Communication), DMRC.

The commuters who wish to comment and put their feedback in this regard can submit their comment/feedback either of on DMRC’s official website at or on the Delhi Metro’s social media sites such as Twitter.  The feedback can be provided till 31st May 2019.

“DMRC will then go through all the suggestions and decide whether the ongoing number of passenger announcements need to be regulated to keep them to bare minimum for passenger convenience or the public wants to retain the ongoing announcements as it is,” added the official.

Through the audio announcements, DMRC inform the passengers about the important rules and regulations of Delhi metro and do’s and dont’s such as next station, door-opening side, destination station, and terminal station, sitting on floor, suspicious articles and announcements welcoming commuters to Delhi Metro, urging them to use smart cards and for depositing tokens while exiting the metro fall in this category.

Presently, the Delhi Metro network consists of about 373 Km with 271 stations covering most of the places in Delhi.

The network has now crossed the boundaries of Delhi to reach Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh in Haryana.
