FIRs against Abhishek not politics of vengeance: Cong

Friday, 23 August 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

State Congress has sharply reacted to the attempt by former Chief Minister Raman Singh to defend his son Abhishek Singh against whom multiple FIRs were lodged and clarified that the action against the former MP was not a      politics of vengeance.

Multiple FIRs were registered against the former MP, sitting Mayor Madhusudan Yadav and others at four police stations in Rajnandgaon district on Thursday.

The FIRs were lodged in alleged involvement of Abhishek and sitting Mayor Madhusudan Yadav in a chit fund scam.

In a statement, Congress’s state spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said if FIR against Abhishek was a politics of vengeance then what was it when Baghel was booked and jailed just for waving a CD (allegedly containing video of a former minister in a compromising situation).

Earlier too FIR against Abhishek and Yadav were    registered in Surguja region but since there is a Supreme Court order against taking any coercive action, the arrest of Abhishek has been kept on hold.

Now as fresh FIRs have been registered in Rajnandgaon the accused have to again apply for interim bail in local court once again.
