Five arrested for gambling, cash recovered

Govindpura police have arrested 5 persons involving in gambling and betting at abandoned quarters near Saraswati School and recovered Rs  50,860 cash from their possession on Saturday.

The raid was conducted by a special team, headed by CSP, Govindpura, Amit Kumar, after receiving a tip off and caught men gambling late in the night on Saturday. Police received information that gamblers with big bets are gambling and on the receipt of the information the place was raided.

Police said that in the raid, the gamblers were found gambling in abandoned quarters near Saraswati school. The raid was conducted after receiving information of suspicious activities in the area and based on the tip off raid when the raid was conducted gamblers were nabbed and around Rs 50,860 cash was recovered from their possession.

The nabbed gamblers were identified as Anuj Ghawaria, Rahul Sen, Ankur Jain, Rupesh Kushwaha and Ankit Jain. Except Rahul Sen all gamblers are resident of Raisen. Police said that past crime record which would be searched. Apart from the cash police have recovered mobile phones and would check if transactions are done using the mobile phones. The police have registered a case under section 4 A of the Gambling Act.

Meanwhile, Shahpura police have nabbed 11 gamblers from Bharat Nagar in the night on Saturday and recovered Rs  9,000 from their possession. Police nabbed 11 gamblers from Bharat Nagar after receiving information of gambling.

The gamblers are identified as Azad, Santosh, Vikas, Bunty, Praveen, Sudharshan, Sanjay, Raja, Raguveer, Laxman and Prahlad. The police have registered a case under section 13 A of the Gambling Act.
