It’s good news for western Odisha air passengers as the Alliance Air is all set to launch its domestic flight services from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Raipur from June 1.
The daily flights from the Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA) to Bhubaneswar and Raipur would be operated under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme, informed Jharsuguda Airport Director Sudesh Kumar Chouhan on Saturday.
The Jharsuguda-bound flight would depart Bhubaneswar at 9.05 am and arrive at the VSSA at 10.10 am. The flight would leave Jharsuguda at 10.35 am towards Bhubaneswar and land at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) at 11.40 am, airport official sources said.
The schedule for Raipur would be available soon.
Notably, the Alliance Air, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, is currently operating services to 53 destinations including Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Bikaner, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
