Followed by quashing of orders of Central and the State Government on forceful retirement of Chhattisgarh cadre 2002 batch IPS officer KC Agrawal by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), the Chhattisgarh Government through an order has reinstated him.
After recommendation of the Chhattisgarh Government about forceful retirement of the IPS officer on adverse Confidential Report (CR), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of Central Government had earlier terminated his services.
Against the orders of Government of forceful retirement, Agrawal approached CAT. It directed the State Government to reinstate Agrawal's services. As per the orders of CAT, he was on Wednesday reinstated by the State Government from the date of the retirement given to him. “His seniority has to be maintained”, the CAT has ruled. Meanwhile, Agrawal has assumed his duties and was also present in the Chhattisgarh State Assembly on Thursday.
