Forester’s house burgled in R’gada

A locked house of a Forester at Indira Nagar in Rayagada town was burgled and gold and silver jewelleries were looted on Tuesday night.

The burglars decamped with around 430 gram of gold and 2 kg of silver jewelries after breaking open the door of the official’s residence.

Later, a complaint was lodged by Forester Sibani Patra with the Rayagada police.

Sources said Sibani, had gone to Brahmapur along with her mother to meet her ailing father on August 10. After returning home, she found the door was broken open and all the valuables looted.

“When we opened the gate, found the front door lock was broken and jewelleries from three

cupboards and one box was missing,” the forest official said in the complaint

She urged the police to nab the persons involved in the burglary and recover the stolen items.
