Amidst stalemate over ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and AJSU Party alliance for the upcoming State Assembly Elections in Jharkhand several known faces active in the State politics are joining AJSU Party as former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA from Pakur, Aquil Akhtar joined the AJSU Party on Wednesday.

Akhtar was elected from Pakur on JMM seat in 2009 State Assembly Elections.  He will contest from Pakur as AJSU Party candidate in the upcoming elections.

Putting a halt to the news coming from morning about the formation of the BJP-AJSU Party alliance, AJSU Party Central Committee president Sudesh Mahato said that they do not have any official information about decision of BJP.

“The BJP has not officially said anything yet.

When any information related to the alliance comes, I will tell the media,” said Mahto during the party joining programme of Akhtar. Sudesh Mahato said, “AJSU is currently engaged in preparations for the first, second and third phases of polling. “We do not have any official information on their behalf for the alliance or friendly fight.

If there is any official information, I will definitely present my stand,” he added. The  AJSU Party Chief said that the party will unveil its manifest in a day or two. “There are several issues of the State on which we have to discuss with BJP along with political alliance as we are 19 year old partner of the party.

The objective of formation of the State is still not fulfilled till now. We have to discuss on this issues with the BJP along with seat sharing agreement,” he added.

It may be mentioned here that the first list of candidates has been released by AJSU Party and BJP. In this, both the parties have announced their candidates in Sindri, Chakradharpur, Mandu, Lohardaga and Simaria, which has created ripples in the politics of Jharkhand. AJSU Party candidate Neeru Shanti Bhagat filed her nomination from Lohardaga constituency and said that she will not back track at any cost, she must contest the election. At the same time, on Wednesday, BJP candidate Sukhdev Bhagat also filed nomination from the same seat.

On the question of inclusion of former the State Congress Chief, Pradip Kumar Balmuchu in AJSU Party, Mahto said that the party will consider whether it will give him the party’s ticket or not.

AJSU, a BJP ally in the State for 19 years, on Tuesday included rebel MLA Radhakrishna Kishore of BJP. Kishore filed his nomination from Chattarpur constituency as AJSU Party candidate.

When BJP announced Puspa Devi as candidate from Chattarpur then Kishore joined AJSU Party. Meanwhile, JMM dismissed Akhtar from its primary membership for six years along with four other party members.
