The Foundation Day or the feast day of the congregation was celebrated by St Mary's Convent Sr Sec School, Tulsi Nagar on Friday in the school campus with much exuberance. September 15 is the establishment day of the religious institute PSOL, founded by Msgr George Fernandes in the year 1939.
The joy of the celebrations was doubled with the opening of the cause of the founder of the congregation on September 14 at St Andrew's Church, Bandra was recommended for Sainthood to the
Universal Catholic Church. A glimpse on the life of the benevolent and visionary priest was presented on the occasion by Miss Beena Mathew.The supervisor Ms. Anu Johnson honored all the sisters of the convent with a bouquet and gift and wished all of them healthy and eternal lives. She offered her prayers to Msgr George Fernandes remembering the favours granted to many people after praying to him.
Hindi diwas was also celebrated on the occasion. A short cultural programme was organised which included speeches, poem recitation etc.
Principal Sr Mary CD and the Hindi department head, Manju Pandey addressed the students and made them aware about the significance of Hindi. The walls and notice boards were adorned with colourful charts that proclaimed the glory of the language through catchy slogans and striking quotes.
