The investigation in high-profile honeytrap case has now reached the State Mantralaya.
Four Government departments including Agriculture department have come under scanner.
The police are also searching for the account details of senior officials to find out whether they were directly linked with the gang members. It is also being listed as how many contracts were given out to the selected NGOs.
Sources said that during raids conducted at the premises of the accused persons, the police have recovered government seals of four departments and on this, the police have zeroed down its investigation towards scrutinising the records of these departments.
These are the departments where contracts were given to the voluntary organizations.
The SIT formed to look into the case has started searching for the money trails as well, to find out which officials were linked with the honey-trap gang members. Police sources said that in the preliminary investigation, it has come to fore that besides giving out government contracts, money trails for directs transactions have also been traced.
Meanwhile, newly appointed SIT chief Rajendra Kumar on Sunday reached Indore and went through case diaries in the cases registered in connection with the honeytrap scam.
The probe into the sensational honey-trap scandal which had shook the politics in Madhya Pradesh suddenly seems losing the steam as after assuming office, especially after the third Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed into the scandal.
Still all the five women arrested in the case are in Indore jail and surprisingly their families are also yet to move the court with bail pleas as of now. Meanwhile the complainant in the case, IMC City Engineer Harbhajan Singh has been suspended over ‘immorality and corruption.’
