Kamla Nagar police have nabbed four miscreants who vandalized around half a dozen two wheelers, abused and assaulted two women at Naya Basera on January 13; one of the accused is missing.
Police said that the accused vandalized six two wheelers in the area in an inebriated state and assaulted and abused two women of the area who tried to oppose the miscreants.
After receiving the information police rushed to the spot but the miscreants managed to escape. Based on the complaint, a case under section 147, 148, 149, 294, 323 of the IPC and section 3(1) and 3(2) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against the accused. In the investigation it was found that five accused were involved in the act and later police arrested four accused while fifth accused is still absconding. The nabbed accused persons were identified as Monu Agaria, Irfan, Azad Khan and Rizwan while Lalu Yadav is absconding.
CSP TT Nagar Satish Samadhiya said that nabbed accused hold crime record and are habitual criminals. They attacked and abused Jai Devi and Nanhi Bai who opposed the damaging of the vehicles.
The vandalism and assault was done to create terror among the locals. The accused do not have any enmity with the locals and no dispute was reported in the past few days, he added.
Monu has been booked for 11 crimes, Irfan has been booked for 5 crimes, Azad Khan has been booked for 3 crimes and Rizwan has been booked for 6 crimes.
