Punjab’s former chief parliamentary secretary and four-time MLA Choudhary Nand Lal passed away on Sunday morning after a brief illness.
Seventy four-year-old SAD leader is survived by two sons. Choudhary was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mohali where he breathed his last at 7 am on Sunday, said SAD’s senior vice president Daljit Singh Cheema adding that he was a very noble person, a leader of masses and enjoyed wide popularity in his constituency.
Expressing deep grief, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SAD president Sukhbir Badal said that he was party’s dedicated, hard working and staunch worker and the void created with his death will be hard to fill.
Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, expressing profound grief, described Chaudhary as a gentleman politician with the qualities of head and heart, who worked tirelessly for the welfare of downtrodden and overall development of Kandi region.
