nTracking the path of files and documents related to civic work is now available at the click of a button as the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has started functioning digitally by an E-office operation. Earlier the corporation used to work as a manual manner, but now it is being done through online medium.

Municipal Commissioner Gurugram Yashpal Yadav said, “No file in the department is being accepted in a mode of paper. “We have started the corporation operation by E-office; the resident’s of Gurugram will now receive their house tax, water bills, and property tax via e-mails”.

With the transformation, the MCG is being contributed to the saving of paper and environment, apart from this, the E-office operation will give speed and transparency in the workplace, it has become easy to track postal and file,” Yadav said.

He further said the department officials executing e-offices from anywhere. “A major advantage of digitisation is that approvals or observations from the officials for any work can be done at any time and files won’t remain pending even if the concerned official is on leave. Though this process we can save our time and that of our users,” the Commissioner, said.

According to the department logging IDs and passwords have been made on the E-office of all the MCG officials. The IT cell is also training the officers as per the requirement.

“We are able to access information about the files at any given time. In addition, residents who want to know the status of their file or complaint would be able to track it digitally,” an MCG official said.

“The E-office of the MCG will surely help citizens of Gurugram. Through this format it will save time and work will be completed as soonest. Earlier most of the civic work was done manually and it takes around two to three hours for a single work,” said Rohan Chahal, a resident of Gurugram.
