In yet another such incident, a Class-X girl of a tribal girls’ high school at Chandiput in Gajapati district was found pregnant on Thursday.
The incidence was reported from the Chandiput Adivashi Balika Vidyapeeth and was detected during the routine monthly tests.
School Headmistress Rajlaxmi Behera immediately informed the Mohana BDO and the District Welfare Officer (DWO) about it and lodged a case at the Mohana police station, following which a probe has been ordered.
The pregnant girl was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital here for checkup after being handed over to the District Child Protection Committee.
R Udayagiri SDPO Ashok Kumar Mohanty said a minor boy accused of making the girl pregnant was questioned at the Mohana police station and later forwarded to the juvenile court here.
