Gandharva Institute of Vocal Excellence celebrated its fifth annual day programme on Wednesday at State Museum Auditorium.
This was a music program by students of the institute.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Music Guru Anoop Sharma along with many other dignitaries from music field.
The programme started with lightening of the Lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana written by Tulsidas and performed by all students of the institute.
Next was a Ghazal written by Naseem Rifat Sahab and sung by Shahank Singh.
The program was all about light music and all songs, ghazals etc were composed by Guru Prassan Rao.
Light music is an important component of Indian Music.
Bhav Sangeet in India has evolved and developed through the ages by people in various parts and regions of India.
The aim of this Institute is to help aspirants to open up their creativity through Bhajans, Geet, Ghazals etc written by various poets and specially composed in a way that makes students actually understand holistic aspects of music rather than just learning it like any other subject.
The attraction of the programme was a composition written and composed by Prasan Rao including 14 Ragas of Indian Classical music, ‘Raag Mala, Sa Se Sa Tak’ sung in group by all students of the Institute.
Many other songs, Ghazals and Bhajans were performed by Khushi Gupta, Arya Purohit, Anmol Nagar, Shourya Shrivastava, Ayush Shrivastava, Zaid Hasan, Manoj Ahirwar, Ishaan Jain, Yash Tiwari, Priyansh Tiwari, Hardik Dehariya and Zoya Khan.
