Gauhar Mahal lighted with 2019 earthen diyas

The historical building of the city, Gauhar Mahal was lighted with 2019 earthen diyas adding to its rustic beauty. At Deep Utsav 2019, the vendors, shoppers and other visitors lit 2019 earthen diyas at Gauhar Mahal creating a memorable envoirnment at the exhibition cum sale.  It is to be noted that every year at Deep Utsav earthen diyas are lit up at the Gauhar Mahal premises to mark the festival of lights Diwali.

Organiser at Gauhar Mahal, Brijendra Singh Raghuwanshi told The Pioneer, “We organize Deep Utsav every year for the shopaholics to shop for Diwali. We began the ritual of lighting up the earthen diyas from year 2011.”

Since then the event of lighting up the diyas is organised. Raghuwanshi further informed that each year the number of diyas increases. After lighting up the earthen diyas, the beauty of Gauhar Mahal amplified as the light of diyas added charm to the historic building.

“It is believed that after diwali the vendors and weavers starts their new year and so we organize this event so that all of them can welcome their new year together in a traditional manner,” added Raghuwanshi.

It is to be noted that the fair is evoking a good response by the female participants as they are enchanted with the home décor item available at the mela. As the mela shares a major collection of dress materials and foot wears are enthralling the ladies. Various types of diyas are available at the fair for the coming diwali. There is also a collection of Chanderi and Maheshwari dress materials for the festive season.
