Got threats for raising mosque issue: BJP MP

Friday, 21 June 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

West Delhi Parliamentarian Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma had filed a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding the threats he is receiving from a person after he raised the issue of mushrooming of mosques in national Capital.

Verma urged the Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik, to look into the matter and initiate a probe in this regard. The incident came two days after the second time Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP wrote a letter to L-G Delhi regarding illegal construction of mosques on vacant Government land, plots and secluded areas.

According to the letter Verma states that,  “a person namely Er Shadab Chouhan who claims to be the President of #meemsena and also spokesperson of RLD threatened me of dire consequences.”

Shadab Chauhan had allegedly sent a message to Verma on twitter saying, “Listen Mr. MP carefully that if you target our masjids then #meemsena will teach you a lesson. I think you dont know our strength? I challange you to touch a single Masjid illegally.”
