Govt apathetic in rehabilitation work: Hemant

Sunday, 17 February 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Saturday alleged on the State government that it is not willing to rehabilitate the displaced persons of coal mines in Dhanbad and adjoining areas as the work of rehabilitation started by the JMM led government was prevented by the present State government.

Addressing a large gathering in Bokaro during his fourth phase of ‘Sanghrsh Yatra’ JMM Executive president, Hemant Soren said that when he was the CM of the State, he started rehabilitation programme while taking those land from the company where mining ended but the present government has poured water on the work. He demanded that the government should provide land to indigenous people.

Hitting hard at Raghubar government, Soren said that crores of rupees earned from people’s hard work is being wasted like water in advertisements, publicity and posters to lure people on development work run by the government. “In case of loot of public money and scandals the BJP worker had do what no one had done in last 60 years,” he added.

Speaking on the drinking water problems faced by people of North Chhotanagpur Soren said that there was a great source of water supply available at the place, he had passed during his tenure a scheme, but the present government has not been able to repair old system of drinking water so talking on new scheme is a distance dream.

Crtisising the government on prevailing drought condition Soren said, “Like other places in the State the condition of drought is also very pitiable in these areas but the State government instead of doing something for the farmers of the area, it is only making false promises.”
