Sunday, 08 September 2019 | SR | Bhopal

Apparently unhappy with the guest teachers staging a protest over unfulfilled promises of regularisation in the State capital, General Administration Department (GAD) Minister Govind Singh here on Saturday said that the Congress Government does not grow money on tress and they would fulfill all their promises in five years.

Thousands of guest faculties had reached Bhopal on Sep 5 –The Teachers’ Day, to stage Halla Bol agitation in order to remind Kamal Nath Government of its unfulfilled promise of regularise them.

Commenting on the said incident, GAD Minister Govind Singh said that the state government would fulfill the promise within next five years adding the state coffers was empty. “We don’t have any money tree,” quipped the Minister.

The Minister urged the guest faculties to understand the problems of the State Government. The senior minister went on to claim that promises are not fulfilled within a month, it will take some time. There are several schemes which are lying unfinished for want of financial resources, added the Minister.

He accused the former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of leaving an empty coffer adding despite this, the Congress government is waiving off Rs 54,000 crore farm loans of farmers.

Farm loans of around 20 lakh farmers are yet to be waived off and the process of writing off loans of 12-13 lakh farmers is underway, the Minister claimed adding their documents are being verified.

He went back to underline financial crunch saying the Congress party had promised Rs 1,000 monthly pension to widows and elderly citizens but still the State Government has dearth of resources.

There are over 80,000 guest teachers in Madhya Pradesh and Congress party in a pre-poll promise had said that these teachers would be regularised within three months after coming to power. However, eight months on, the State government is yet to walk the talk.
