Govt staff demand 5% hike in DA

Members of the Odisha State Government Employees’ Coordination Committee has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patanik with demands, including a five-per cent hike in their dearness allowance (DA) as in the case of Central Government staffs.

Committee president Lingaraj Mohanty said, “The Central Government recently has hiked the DA by five per cent for its employees; and in line with this we have submitted a memorandum to the CM requesting him to hike our DA by five per cent.”

The other demands include reappointment of retrenched, outsourcing, data entry and contractual employees working in different department like Water Resources, Water Supply and Agricultural Research in the same departments and introduction of a permanent pension system.

Committee leaders Biswamohan Mahapatra, Srimati Sahu, Kahnu Charan Mallick, Mahesh Patnaik, Laxmidhar Jena, Sefali Das, Sanghamitra Swain and Basant Behera were present at the Press meet.
