Govt suspends former NRDA CEO Bajaj

Chhattisgarh Government has suspended former CEO of Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) SS Bajaj. A decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting held at official residence of Chief Minister on Tuesday night.

Briefing the mediapersons at a joint Press conference, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar and Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal informed that

Bajaj was suspended because he allotted the land where United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi laid foundation stone for the new capital.

Indian Forest Services (IFS) official Bajaj is at present posted as Additional Director, Forest Research Institute.

Minister Mohammad Akbar informed the mediapersons that the State Government had also decided to establish bio-ethanol production plant keeping in view surplus stock of rice, sugarcane in the State which was purchased by State Government on Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Minister Choubey also informed that the cabinet okayed approved setting up of Staff Selection Commission in Bastar, Surguja and Korba region. The Cabinet also decided to install solar pumps in rural areas worth Rs 477 crore under ‘Saur Sujala Yojana.’

Similarly, Sports Development Authority will also be formed as per the announcement of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, he said. The CM will be its chairman and the State Sports Minister will be its vice chairman, he added.
