Govt to invest 90 % funds for select industries in Bokaro

Bokaro will be developed as a production center for certain products. There are huge scope for the industries including automobiles, general engineering goods, Iron and Steel products for domestic use, said K Ravi Kumar Secretary, Department of Industries.

“For establishing such industries the Government will arrange 90 per cent funds for all selected proposals to set up micro and small scale industries. At the same time entrepreneurs will have to bear the rest of the 10 per cent of the expenditure," he added.

“In order to accelerate the economy, the Central Government is establishing technology centers across the country aiming to achieve the goal of developing the entire group of micro, small and medium enterprises,” said Kumar.

On Wednesday Kumar hold a detailed discussions on the progressive policies and initiatives of the government at district administrative building auditorium where he invited proposals to set up the cluster of micro and small industries.

Blessed with unlimited bounties and blessing of the nature Bokaro is having a very ideal geographical location of setting up industries. Industries like aromatic products, including automobile, general engineering can be set up in the area. Though there are limitless possibilities in the field of secondary products such as Iron and Steel factories for domestic use, he said.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) approved the 21 new investment proposals to set up units are Bokaro a few months earlier. With an investment of Rupees 70 crore, twenty-one new projects soon to be come-up at Balidih Industrial Area in the district.

JIADA also approved the investment proposal to set up a mega food park at Chandankyari in Bokaro and approved land to set up the unit, said an official. Triveni Group a real estate company is on move to set up a mega food park; will an investment of Rs 222 crore for the food park.  The Triveni Group has a 0.5 million tonne integrated steel mill and captive power plant in Seraikela-Kharsawan and low-cost housing projects across the State, he said.

The park will have facilities for multi-chamber cold storage, dry warehouse, vegetable dehydration line, modern quality control and testing laboratory and other processing facilities for fruits and vegetables. This project will create a modern infrastructure to minimise the post-harvest losses of the agricultural produce and will also give a strong boost to the growth of food processing sector in Jharkhand, said the official.
