Govt will honour loan waiver promise: Nath

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said that the government will honour its promise of loan waiver at all cost as it was not an electoral promise or announcement. It was a promise made to the farmers.

The Chief Minister has written a letter to the former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that he was misleading the farmers owing to electoral compulsions. Now, elections are over and he must accept the fact that 21 lakh farmers have been benefited by the loan waver scheme. Now desist from speaking lies.

The Chief Minister in the letter said that Congress government on assuming the office on December 17 and issued its first order about loan waiver. After this, the process of loan waiving started. Lakhs of applications were received seeking the benefits. The amount of loan waive started reaching the the accounts of the eligible farmers.

The Chief Minister further said that about 21 lakh farmers got benefit. During the code of conduct. A permission was sought from the Election Commission to deposit the amount of loan waiver into the accounts of 4.83 lakh farmers in the areas where elections had been completed. Immediately after the permission, the process of loan waiving continued.

Nath said that a promise has been fulfilled. The process is on. This is a promise to the farmers and the government will honour it.

The Chief Minister asked Shivraj Singh Chouhan to accept the truth. He reminded Chouhan as how he was misleading farmers during election and not a single farmer got benefit. Despite the fact that you emptied the exchequer, loan waiver scheme was launched benefiting a number of farmers. About 21 lakh farmers got the benefits and rest will soon be covered.  He asked Shivraj Singh Chbouhan  to accept the truth as elections are over now.

The Chief Minister informed Chouhan that BJP could not do it in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh even in three years.

He said that a delegation reached your residence with enough evidence but you ignored them due to election but you continued to mislead the farmers. The Chief Minister asked Chouhan to accept the truth. Election is over. Now you are expected to accept the truth. The Chief Minister said that the Congress government is a farmer friendly government. The process will speed up. Your cooperation and good wishes are desirous in the interest of farmers.
