Grand-alliance to clear seats by March 24: Hemant

Notwithstanding BJP’s advantage in seat sharing and forming stable coalition across the country the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in an attempt to ensure victory of the party candidates and its alliance partner’s seats in all the 14 seats of the State in the upcoming Lok Shabha elections organised its executive committee meeting here on Monday.

After the meeting JMM executive president Hemant Soren made it clear that the seat sharing status of the Grand Alliance and names of candidates will be cleared by March 24 at any cost.

A large numbers of party office bearers from across the State along with office bearers of various neighbouring states such as West Bengal, Bihar and Odisha were also present to discuss on present political issues.

Addressing a press meet after the meeting former Chief Minister and JMM Executive president Hemant Soren said that as Lok Shabha election is round the corner with an aim to ensure victory of the party and the alliance in the State a large numbers of the party workers participated in the working committee meeting form all part of the State and from adjoining states to discuss future strategy and stands of the party. 

“After a long struggle we have got the State but the misrule of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has brought old days. Once again we have to fight against the misrule of NDA to free the State from its net because rights of the local and indigenous people can be saved only this way,” he added.

Speaking on the future strategies of the party, Soren said that the party officials have demanded that the party should contest in their respective areas, on this issue the party president, Sibu Soren is authorised to take decisions according to the capabilities of the candidate in the area.

While replying on the seat sharing issue Soren said that on March 24 the party will formally announce the shape of the ‘Grand alliance’ which the party has formed with Congress and other regional parties. It is sure that the party will contest the election under alliance, he added.

Speaking on the issue of violation of Model Code of Conduct by Union Minister, Jayant Sinha the former Chief Minister said that the Election Commission of India should take action against him and debar Sinha to contest the election.  

Speaking on the issue of AJSU Party and BJP alliance in the State, Soren said that BJP understands its situation and form alliance with AJSU Party as it is clear that BJP has given its seat to AJSU Party. “BJP is trying to usurp power on the basis of alliance,” he added.
