A meeting of Green Bhopal, Cool Bhopal was held at the Mantralaya on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty.
The Chief Secretary has instructed to take cooperation from everyone in planting and improving the park and also linking industrial units to it. Prices of the bigger plants should be determined as per their years.
The Chief Secretary also instructed to curb illegal felling of trees.
Mohanty issued instructions to make saplings available to citizens for Rs 10 in place of Rs.12 under 'Green Bhopal-Cool Bhopal'. He said that while providing the saplings, the citizens should be requested to take care of the saplings. Peoples audit should be done to ensure that the saplings are planted, taken care of and their survival is ensured.
All saplings should be numbered and various species of saplings should be planted according to the climate.
Lakes and water structures located in Bhopal district should be covered with greenery by planting more and more plants around them.
Mohanty said that a group of 70-75 people should be formed in which the people's representatives are also involved.
School and college students should also be linked to this campaign and it should be promoted on a large scale so that public participation can be assured.
Saplings should be planted on both the sides of the MPRDC and PWD roads compulsorily.
Giving details during the meeting, regarding Green Bhopal Cool Bhopal, Bhopal Commissioner Smt. Kalpana Shrivastav said that various agencies have been entrusted with the responsibility of beautification and enhancing greenery of 6 hills of Bhopal city which include Shyamla Hills, Arera Hills, Idgah Hills, Katara Hills, Manuabhan Tekri and Dronanchal
Nevri hills.
The work of beautification of Idgah Hills will be carried out by Municipal Corporation / Smart City, Arera Hills-CPA, Manuabhan Tekri - CPA, Katara Hills- CCF, Bhopal Circle, Dronanchal Nevri – BDA and Shyamla Hills by CPA.
