The Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium at Khelgaon swarmed with excited youths, who received employment letters, were undergoing training or aspiring to be a part of the skill development training of the government.

As over one lakh youth of the State got employment during the Global Skill Summit 2019 on Thursday, excitement was in air with hopes and dreams of a better future.

Shanti Kumari, 19, of Gumla who belongs to an economically weaker family was given an offer letter by an automobile company to be a part of their team of mechanists. “I was a part of the mechanist training programme at MSME Tool Room. After one year of training, now I am getting a job of Rs. 9000 per month which is a very big amount for me. As I do not have a father, I had always wanted to help my mother financially and now I can do that,” she said.

Shanti was accompanied by a number of her classmates who had all received an offer letter from different companies.

The programme lifted the spirit of all those who are currently a part of various ongoing skill development trainings.

Abhishek Kumar, who is undergoing welder training said, “I was not sure whether I would get a job once I complete the training but seeing all these people getting jobs today has raised hopes. Now I will work even harder so that I get a good job next year and am handed over the employment letter just like these people here.”

A number of youths aspiring to be a part of training programmes under the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission also attended the programme looking forward to various opportunities available for them.

“I interacted with the people who got jobs today or are undergoing training which gave me an insight about the skill development programme of the government. It has inspired me to get enrolled with JSDM so I can get a decent paying job in the future,” said Saurabh Kumar.

A number of people also got a chance to know about the various skill development opportunities through various stalls put up in the premise where representatives of various companies showcased their work and invited people to join them.
