Gunga police have nabbed a 40-year-old notorious criminal near petrol pump at Dupadia and recovered one country made pistol and one live cartridge from his  possession on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off, a miscreant was nabbed who was identified as Aslam of Jehangirabad and a country made pistol and one live cartridge was found from his possession.

After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act while the absconding accused were wanted in three cases of attacking with sharp edged weapons in a single day.

Police have claimed that the miscreant was nabbed with the country made pistol and cartridge which suggests that he was on his way to commit crime. Aslam is a habitual criminal and have been booked for different crimes by Gunga, Jehangirabad, Misrod and Indore police for gambling, possession of weapons illegally and selling and transportation of liquor illegally.

Meanwhile, TT Nagar police have booked four miscreants for attacked with sharp edged weapon  and extorting money from a van driver near Rainbow hospital on Saturday. Police said that the victim Shajid Khan was abused and attacked by four miscreants identified as Altaf, Prince, Shivam and their aide.

The victim managed to escape and lodged a complaint with the TT Nagar police. In his complaint he stated that he was having tea with his friends accused appeared at the spot and started to abuse and demanded Rs 500 and when he opposed they attacked him with sharp edged weapon injuring him in his hand. The police have registered case against the four and started search of the accused.
