The Governor of Uttarakhand, Baby Rani Maurya, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Premchand Agarwal, have greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Deepawali. In a message, the Governor said that the festival of light, Deepawali is a symbol of victory of good over evil. Praying for peace and prosperity of the people of the state the Governor said that on the occasion of Deepawali pledge to alleviate the downtrodden section of society should be taken.
On the occasion of Goverdhan Pooja, she said that an oath to preserve and conserve natural resources should be taken. The Governor met the officers and employees of her secretariat on the day and offered her greetings to them.
The Chief Minister also greeted people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Deepawali. The CM met the senior officers of administration and police service at his residence on the day. Rawat expressed his Deepawali wishes to the officers. The chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, Additional chief secretary Om Prakash and ACS Radha Raturi and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
In his message, the speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Premchand Agarwal said that the festivals of Deepawali, Goverdhan Puja and Bhai Dooj have special importance in Indian culture. Wishing the people he said that he prays to the almighty that the light of knowledge and prosperity fills the life of every citizen.
