On the occasion of the Independence Day, the Governor Lalji Tandon hoisted the National Flag at 8 am at Raj Bhavan premises on Thursday.
After unfurling the National Flag, he took salute from the Police squad. Lalji Tandon also distributed sweets to the officers and employees along with the children.
Governor Lalji Tandon said that Raksha Bandhan is a pious festival. Relationship with daughters and sisters is utmost pious in our culture He mentioned that it is must that our sisters should feel safe. This was said by the Governor, while giving blessings to the girls of various organizations and women office bearers, who reached the Raj Bhvan to tie Rakhi to him.
The Governor said that it is utmost essential to understand the importance of Rakhi. Safety and progress of sisters and daughters is a responsibility of all the people of the society, he added.
