Preparations are in full swing to make sure that 6,500 disabled voters in Ghaziabad face no hardship on polling day. The administration has directed officials to deploy one wheel chair at each polling station.
While interacing with officials, District Magistrate Ritu Maheswari said the notification to file nomination will start from March 18, the last date of filing nomination will be March 25, scrutiny of the nomination papers will be on March 26, the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be March 28, polling will be held on April 11 and counting of votes would be on May 23, 2019.
The DM said five Assembly seats — Loni, Murad Nagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modi Nagar Assembly constituencies are the part of District Ghaziabad while Dhaulana Assembly constituency part of Hapur district partially — falls under Ghaziabad Parliamentary constituency.
Announcing the important amendments of the election commission of India (ECI), the DM said the candidates with criminal records have to publish their each and every detail of his criminal cases three times during election period from March 28, to 5.00 pm till April 9 in newspapers. “Simultaneously the political parties which are fielding its candidates shall also have to publish its candidate’s crime record three times during these dates and finally the Returning Officer (RO) will provide them a certification regarding publication of crime record. The forms C1, C2 and C3 have been been introduced by the ECI this time. If any candidate is found hiding facts, is liable to the cancellation of his nomination papers,” the DM said.
“This time the ECI has introduced Form 26 whose every column is to be filled about the income sources of last five years. Earlier it was for three years. The details would be filled including each and every member of Hindu United Family (HUF) and details have to be mentioned of all the dependents on them,” said the DM.
Regarding voters, the DM revealed that this time the total voters in Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency is 27,15,871 out of which 15,13,963 are men and 12,0,1705 women The 1.30 lakh new voters have added in this coming election. Assembly wise voters are Loni 4,86,227, Murad Nagar 4,32,391, Sahibabad 9,08,410, Ghaziabad 4,37,646, Modi Nagar 3,38,728 and Dhaulana 1,12,469.
There are 3,000 polling stations and 644 centers in the constituency for which the two sessions have been conducted to train the staff. The process of depositing 15,000 arms licenses is underway announced the DM.
