HACK-A-BIT see enlightening talks

The second day of HACK-A-BIT 2019 started on Saturday with an enlightening talk by the Head of Marketing at ZEIT, Sarup Banskota. The talk was organised for the participants and organisers.

The speaker illustrated on how he embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship and began with tiny steps to achieve the ultimate goal of being able to create a better impact on the society. Banskota also talked about the significance of the side hustles that we pursue in college or high school like digital designing and open sourcing. His corporation, ZEIT simplifies the deployment of websites and setting up of a domain. This in turn would help small businesses and side hustles thrive, he added.

Addressing the gathering Banskota said, “Working towards your passion is good, but to really sell a product one needs to convince the user of their requirement.”

Banskota also encouraged the students to participate in the ZEIT challenge that is to deploy websites using ZEIT. He went on to illustrate the process of process of website deployment within 30 seconds; by live demo. The ZEIT Challenge winners would bag a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

 Following the talk, the grueling coding session continued in the Hack Arena for the participants.

 The second half of the day witnessed an inspiring talk by, Engineering Manager, Quality at GitLab Incorporation, Ramya Authappan. Authappan, has an experience of no less than 10 years in a myriad of projects and technology software. Exclusive views and expertise skills on DevSecOps at GitLab were illustrated. The importance of effective communication and interpersonal skills was also elucidated.

The judges checked upon the participants and the progress made by them so far.

A guest talk by a Delhi Technical University engineering graduate Mayank Garg, currently working on the best of the techniques of data analysis and machine learning and working as a senior consultant at Google, was held in the evening. He has worked extensively in different domains of data analysis, interpretation and Natural Language Processing. Garg has also been a keynote speaker in programmes and provided mentorship to industry professionals in his domain. The Twitter Challenge required the students to get pictures clicked with innovative hash tags.

After the informal session, the pictures were posted on popular social media platforms.
