The ‘princess of Rewa’, Mohena Singh, who is the first girl from any erstwhile royal family to participate in a television reality show, tied nuptial knot with the son of Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj on Monday night.

The whole of Bairagi camp area had turned into a small city of lights. The couple had been engaged earlier this year in February and their wedding was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Cabinet Ministers and the commoners from the city and beyond.

The ladies sangeet ceremony was held earlier on Sunday night.

All roads led to Bairagi camp on Monday with hundreds of devotees of Minister and religious guru Satpal Maharaj from different States coming to attend the elaborate wedding programme.

Local police had made ample arrangements for the movement of the public and wedding attendees.

The route map for reaching entrance gate of wedding grounds in Bairagi camp was given with the wedding card and special VIP passes were issued to the media persons.  The slopy road from Shankaracharya Chowk via Ganga bridge led to the wedding site.

Mohena is daughter of Pushpraj Singh Judev and is known for leading a royal lifestyle.

After participating in reality show Dance India Dance (DID) she stepped into the acting arena and became a part of popular television serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hai.  Her identity was later disclosed by DID show judges — Geeta Kapoor, Remo d’ Souza and Terence Lewis — who stated that she belonged to an erstwhile royal family. Mohena is a trained dancer and choreographer too.

Some co-actors of Mohena — Nidhi and Kriti — also reached her wedding with Suyash Rawat, the son of Cabinet Minister.

Most of the hotels and Dharmshalas of the city have been booked for the wedding.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat and Congress leader Indira Hridayesh and other State Cabinet Ministers were present to the bless the bride and the groom.
