Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday asked Industries to train the workforce according to their needs and employ them in their units, adding that this will help in providing employment to the unemployed youth of the state.

Interacting with the Industries' Partners of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) at Gurugram,  he said that providing employment is a regular process and on an average about 2 lakh youth add every year who demand jobs. The government can provide 40,000 to 50,000 jobs in a year, so other rest of the job seekers are to be adjusted in Industries. He said the state government has opened SVSU, which is first of its kind in the country, which help in upgrading the skills of the youth here. Now it is providing skill upgradation training in 31 courses.

Khattar said Industries should come forward in providing the youth training as per their requirement and absorb them.

He added that state government has started ‘Saksham Portal’ where data of unemployed youth is uploaded and the industry should first give preference to the youth registered on that portal.

He sought suggestions from the Industrialists present there and assured that their suggestions useful to promote employment to the youth here will be considered.

Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Devender Singh said that this dual system of education has also been started in Industrial Training Institutes where students learn and take hands on training in the industries.
