Haryana Government  to enhance the scope of NULM

In order to enable the poor and vulnerable urban poor household’s access to gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities under National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), Haryana Government has decided to enhance the scope of NULM from 80 urban local bodies (ULBs) to 86 ULBs.

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved this proposal of State Urban Development Authority, said an official spokesman.He said that the state has constituted six more municipal committees of Sadhaura, Ismailabad, Jakhal-Mandi, Kundli, Sisai and Bass. As NULM being only one scheme or programme to address the livelihood issues of urban poor, thus the components of this mission would be implemented in six newly constituted municipal committees, he said.

The scheme is being run with an objective to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households. NULM is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, which is being implemented by the states/union Territories on 60:40 sharing basis.
