The High Court of Uttarakhand has directed the government to submit its reply by March 27 in a petition filed regarding recruitment process not starting three years after recruitment advertisement for more than 600 posts of pharmacists in the health department.

As per the case details, the state government had issued recruitment advertisement in 2016 for filling 600 posts of pharmacists on contract basis. According to the petition, thousands of unemployed pharmacists had applied in response to the advertisement.

However, when the government did not take the process forward a year later, Pauri resident Manoj Tripathi had filed a petition in the high court. During hearing on the petition earlier, the State government had informed that court that it was going to start the recruitment process soon.

The court had then disposed of the petition on this basis at that time. However, the state government still did not start the recruitment process.

Following this, Pauri resident Roshan Kumar Kala again filed a petition in the high court.

Hearing on this petition, the single bench of justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari directed the state government to clarify the status of the matter in question. In response, the state government informed the court that it would be cancelling the earlier recruitment advertisement and issuing a new recruitment advertisement.

The court has now directed the state government to submit its reply by March 27. The petition is slated to be taken up for hearing next on March 27.
