Senior and known critic of Hindi Dhananjay Verma was felicitated with Man Bahadur Singh Lakhan Award 2019. An award ceremony was organised at Swaraj Bhavan. The event was chaired by famous critic Karan Singh.
Eminent literary and folk poet Man Bahadur Singh emerged as a poet and critic in the early seventies. He used to do literary works while working in school. He was born in Baripur village in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district. So far this award has been given to Neelkanth Mahendra Bhatnagar.
During the event senior critic Neelkanth, Sudhir Saxena, Om Bharti, Asang Ghosh, Umashankar Singh Parmar, Dr. Rekha Kastavar, Mahendra Gagan, Mukesh Verma, Nirbhay Devnisha were also present on the ocassion. On this occasion, Dr. Verma's work was also released of 'Unreal Poetry: Re-evaluation'.
Here on Wednesday, a poet’s meet was also organized. The poets recited the poem over various issues concerning the social issues majorly. During the programme, each poet recited two or three of his creations before the audience and received much appreciation. Further, the other participant poets also gave overwhelming performances before the audience as they read out their creations in various languages adding various emotions, and expressions in their poetry.
Poets like Pragya Rawat, Rakesh Pathak, Mohan Sagoria and Mahesh Katare recited their creations before the audience.
The audience took the pleasure of the poets’ meet and enjoyed the show whole-heartedly. The audiences were awestruck as the poets recited their creations. During the programme, the young literature lovers and the city poets were also spotted enjoying the poetry.
