Hindu officer to be CEO of Char Dham Shrine board

In an important decision, the State Cabinet has decided that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the proposed Char Dham Shrine Board would be an officer belonging to the Hindu religion.

The State Cabinet in its meeting held at Vidhan Sabha on Friday made it clear that the rights of all stakeholders like priests, trustees, Teerth Purohits and pandas would remain intact.

In another decision, the Cabinet made changes in the lower and upper age limit for river rafting and kayaking respectively.

Now individuals above of the age of 12 years can take part in this adventure sport. As of now the permissible age limit for rafting is 14 to 65 years. Similarly for kayaking, the upper age limit criterion has been removed.

 At present the only individuals above the age of 12 and below 50 years can take part in this adventure activity. The cabinet also approved the formulation of regulation for five per cent horizontal reservation for orphans.

In another decision, the cabinet gave its nod for abolition of Pashulok cadre of clerks in the animal husbandry department.

 As of now three cadres of clerks namely Kumaon, Garhwal and Pashulok were there in the department.

In the department the posts of accountant and typist have been abrogated.
