Hold third-party evaluation in SAGY villages: CM

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed that an outcome-based third party evaluation be done of villages selected under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY). The secretaries in- charge of districts should visit the selected villages once in 45 days. Chief Development Officers should also visit these villages to physically inspect the development works. A tour calendar should be prepared for this, said the CM.

Rawat said that change should be visible in the life of people in Adarsh Grams, they should feel that work has been done. Comparative study of these villages should be undertaken to see how the situation has changed compared to the past.

Qualitative improvement in farming, animal husbandry, education, health and per capita income should be checked. These villages should be self reliant. A monthly report on these villages should also be sent to the Members of Parliament concerned. The selected villages should also be made polythene-free. Further, time bound execution of works should also be ensured, stressed the CM.

Officials informed in the meeting that under the SAGY, 762 words were undertaken in three stages in 15 selected Gram Panchayats. Of these works, 565 works have been completed and 53 are in progress. In the first stage 69 out of 70 wors were completed at Sarpuda in Udham Singh Nagar chosen by Bhagat Singh Koshyari; 52 out of 66 works were completed at Devli Bhanigram in Rudraprayag chosen by Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri; 80 out of 85 works were completed at Gordhanpupr in Haridwar chosen by Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’; 57 out of 59 works were completed at Baun in Uttarkashi chosen by Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah; 21 out of 22 works were completed at Supi in Bageshwar chosen by Ajay Tamta; 55 out of 59 works were completed at Raulmel in Champawat chosen by Mahendra Singh Mahra and 15 out of 17 works were completed at Lambagad in Chamoli chosen by Raj Babbar.

In the second phase, all 17 works were completed in Bachan chosen by Pradeep Tamta; 59 out of 80 works were done at Tewa chosen by Tarun Vijay; 41 out of 55 were done at Jamalpur chosen by Nishank; eight out of 50 were done at Lohali chosen by Koshyari; seven out of 39 were done at Atakfarm chosen by Shah and 41 out of 44 were done at Jumma chosen by Ajay Tamta. Similarly in the third stage 44 out of 54 works were done at Salli chosen by Ajay Tamta while 45 works have been done at Khedi Sikohpur chose by Nishank.

Started in 2014, the SAGY aims to ensure all round development through convergence of Central and State schemes in villages chosen by MPs.

Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, principal secretary Manisha Panwar and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
