Homage given to Padmshri Ramakant

The sixth day of Vishwa Rang began with paying homage to Padmashri Ramakant Gundecha, who had set a world record in singing Dhrupad. Ramakant Gundecha died on Friday before he was honoured during Mangalacharan on the fifth day of Vishwarang.

Ramakant Gundecha was a well known Dhrupad artist and founder of Internationally acclaimed Dhrupad Sansthan. He was well known for his magnificent performances as Gundecha Brothers and had given numerous splendid performances across the globe. His sudden demise has shaken the entire art and culture community.

The cultural event began with Manglacjaran. Satyendra Solanki, Bhaskar Das introduced jugalbandi of santoor and flute. Satyendra Solanki and Bhaskar Das began the sixth day with the melody of santoor and flute at the Mangalacharan held in the grand hall of Minto Hall. before his performance, he paid homage to Ramakant Gundecha by 'Vaishnav jana to tene kahe jo pir parai jaane'. Later he played a musical rendition of posts like Ekla Chalo Re, Sacho Tero Naam respectively.

Meanwhile, a Science workshop was also organized for students on the sixth day of Vishwa Rang. During this workshop, Zakir Ali along with Mohan Sagoria, Suchi Mishra, Sarika Gharu Devendra Mewade, Madhu Pant, Brijesh Dixit, gave some science tips to the students. Students showed great enthusiasm about that workshop and by the end of the workshop, all the experts pampered students' curiosities with their experience and thoughts. This workshop was conducted by Mohan Sagoria.

The main session of the sixth day of the Tagore International Literature and Art Festival Vishwa Rang held in the auditorium of Minto Hall. The session was 'Gandhi and Tagore: On Heritage and Democracy'. In this, Santosh Chaubey shared his thoughts and experiences with Nandkishore Acharya, Sudhir Chandra, Rameshchandra Shah. The session was chaired by Rameshchandra Shah. Santosh Choubey, director of Vishwa Rang, handled the session efficiently. In the main session of the sixth day, the lecture presented ideas on the ideologies of Gandhi and Tagore, their heritage and the concepts of imagined democracy according to them.

During this time, it emerged that Gandhi and Tagore had the same ideology and they dreamed of a healthy democracy with some disagreements. "History should be explored for Gandhi and Tagore's legacy", said, Santosh Chaubey.

Choubey, Chancellor of Tagore University, noted litterateur and director of Vishwa Rang, said that when we talk about Gandhi and Tagore's legacy, we should explore history. Because the answers to all these questions exist in our history. He said that the ideology of Gandhi and Tagore is an international ideology. Both of them dreamed of humanity in the whole world beyond the borders of the country and struggled throughout their lives for this.
