Honour dignity of uniform: Nath

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has told the police officers to honour the dignity of uniform and ignore criticism. He urged them to keep in mind the poor sections while practicing law and order. He said that primary object of a law is to protect the interests of the poor.

Nath was addressing the 37 batch officers of Deputy Police Superintendents who called on him at Mantralaya today after completing their training. They will be posted in different districts now.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has to keep pace with globally changing world. The challenges and responsibilities of the police have increased in proportion to the speedy changes in the society. He said that in past resources and facilities of communication technology were not so vast. Today, every person has access to them. Therefore, technologies should be used to prevent crime and improve policing.

Nath guided the officials to keep passion for acquiring new knowledge saying that Training School can give limited period of training but challenging conditions in field and everyday experiences give ample learning, which continues till the end of career.

The Chief Minister praised the female police officers for their decision of joining the police service saying that it would be an inspiration for other daughters willing to join the police force. He said that women's representation in police force is a good sign for society.

Nath expected police officers to set examples at the beginning of career. He said that the decision to join the police service leaving aside lucrative career options shows passion to serve the people. The Chief Minister said that police officers must own the responsibility of protecting the dignity of institutions, which draw strength and power from the Constitution as they represent the Unity in Diversity.

The Director General of Police VK Singh, Special DGP (Training) Sanjay Rana and Deputy Director of Police Training Academy, Bhouri V Kapoor were present on the occasion.
