Human chain formed to spread voting awareness

A large number of people took part in forming a human chain aiming to aware voters to exercise their franchise to strengthen democracy here on Saturday.

The human chain was formed under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme. The eight kms stretch from ITI More Chas to Bokaro Airport was to motivate people to exercise their franchise, informed Rahul Kumar Bharti DPRO Bokaro.

The district administration succeeded in making a Human Chain with help of over thousands of people including Jharkhand Police and CRPF jawans, people from various social organizations, college principals, professors and students, teachers, Sakhi Mandal members, Sahia's, employees form PSU's and other plant units, the district administration officers and staffs, general voters, brand ambassadors from colleges, PWD brand ambassadors and others in order to create voter awareness.

Cops and students holding placards sensitized voters about the importance of voting. Special children and senior citizens were also part of the initiative.

DDC Ravi Ranjan Mishra said, “It is necessary for everyone to vote in order to make a change in our country. He noted that this initiative will motivate people for coming state elections. With the help of this, people can vote for the right leader.”

Bokaro district consists of four constituencies including Bermo and Gomia and Bokaro and Chandankiyari assembly constituency. Bermo and Gomia will go for poll on 12 December while Bokaro and Chandankiyari on 16 December.

According to the proposed final roll (12 October 2019), there are about 13.5 lakhs voters in four Assembly constituency of the district. In Bokaro assembly constituency there are 526660 voters includes 281653 male voters, 243428 female, 30 transgender and 1549 service voters while in Chandankiyari there are 240900 total voter includes 127161 male, 113469 female, 1 transgender and 269 service voters, he said.
