Human skeleton found on Mohana hill

Monday, 19 August 2019 | PNS | PARALAKHEMUNDI

Police recovered a human skeleton from a remote hill in the Mohana area in Gajapati district on Saturday. The skeleton is believed to be of a person who was missing for the last 50 days.

Shyam Sundar Singh, a resident of Mohana Christian Sahi in Gajapati district, was missing from June 30. After failing to locate him, family members lodged a missing complaint at the Mohana police station on July 7. On August 15, some cowboys saw a human skeleton lying on the nearby Minihuri Hill and informed Shyam’s family about it. The family members went to the spot and found Shyam’s shirt there. Then, they claimed before police that the skeleton was of Shyam.

The police recovered the skeleton and sent to the MKCG Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A scientific team has also conducted an inquiry.

Alleging that Shyam was murdered, family members have demanded a proper inquiry and action against culprits.
