IG conducts meeting with district police

Friday, 11 October 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Following the armed robbery case at Premnagar wherein lapse by the district police gave time to the robbers to escape, Inspector General (IG) Ajay Rautela directed district police to flash detailed yet specific information about the accused during the initial search for the accused.

During the meeting held late on Wednesday night at the office of Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), IG Rautela gave necessary directions to the district police about the upcoming festive season and the three major events—on October 21 when police martyrs day will be observed; on October 31 when National Unity Day on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will be celebrated and on November 9 when Uttarakhand State foundation day will be celebrated.

In addition to that, he said that district police are to mark the vulnerable spots in their area. He also said that for the initial search for the accused in any case, the traffic department and City Patrol Unit (CPU) personnel should also be included.

It is also important to mention here that after learning lessons from the recent lapse in the loot case at Premnagar, an analysis of the entire control room alert flash system is being done at the district level. According to officials, district control room will now develop a system in which they will divide the intensity of the search to be conducted into three categories.
