Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Raipur has announced to establish a gold medal that will be given to topper of agriculture microorganism science department in memory of late agriculture scientist Dr JN Dubey.
As per the official information, a group of microorganism scientists handed over a cheque of Rs 1.50 lakh to the university vice chancellor Dr SK Patil requesting to establish a gold medal in memory of Dr JN Dubey, officials informed.
The gold medal will be given to the topper of M.Sc. Agri Micro Biology.
Notably Dr JN Dubey was a known microorganism scientist of central India who carried out number of researches on importance of microorganism in agriculture. He was the first scientist to propound the relation between Rhizobium bacteria with soya bean crop.
The group of microorganism scientists who gave away cheque included Dr LN Verma, former director of national bio fertilizer production center Ghaziabad and Dr SB Gupta Dean Jashpur agriculture college and others.
