IGRMS organises tribal literature festival

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), Bhopal with collaboration of Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi is organising Tribal Literature Festival with the aim of bringing the cultural and literary reserves of tribal inhabitants into mainstream.

This festival will commence with inauguration of Chitra Lipi - An Exhibition on ‘Expression of thoughts through paintings’ and Kanjali — A Workshop on ‘Traditional Art and Craft’ from 10th November, 2019. This Programme will be inaugurated by Easterine Kire, famous poet and author at Arvitti Bhawan, lake view side, IGRMS from 10.30 am.

on this occasiona book will also be displayed at exhibition. Thereafter, the Panel Discussion on “Tribal Literature: Contribution and Concerns”, in which the participants will present their thoughts on the topic.

‘Jayaka’ is the Major attraction of this programme. In this, resident of Bhopal will Enjoy the delights of traditional dishes of Karbi (Assam), Jatapu (Andhra Pradesh), Muria (Chhattisgarh), Oraon (Jharkhand), Bhilala (Madhya Pradesh), Kabui (Manipur), Bhil (Rajasthan), Lepcha (Sikkim), Santhal (West Bengal), Toda (Tamil Nadu). This function will last till November 12th, 2019.

Cultural presentations progaramme will commence from 6.00 pm, in which Chhau Dance of Jharkhand, Bhotiya Dance (Uttrakhand), Solo song from Nagaland, Folk and Tribal Dance of Vidarbh Region of Maharashtra, Traditional Dance from Arunachal Pradesh, Solo Song from Mizoram and Cultural Performance of Toda (Tamil Nadu) will be performed by traditional artists.
