Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) is working for valuable cultural traditions. 95 students of IIFM (PGDFM) under course on ‘Society & Polity’ visited IGRMS on Sunday, they were led by Ujjal Kumar Sharma.
At the start of the programme, Surya Kumar Pandey introduces the exhibitions of museum in brief. Later on they were shown documentary film on IGRMS and taken to various open air and indoor exhibition of Museum, where they were guided by the senior officer of the museum.
On this occasion, the Director, IGRMS Prof Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri said that —All of you will get many valuable information through the exhibitions. Today in the 21st century the museum has become a center of information. Museum visit get more knowledge about culture. The museum is not limited to the exhibits shown only, but it is the centre of cultural significance and associated with that community. The museum is always working in this direction. With the aim of reaching more close to the community, IGRMS has established in South Regional Centre at Mysore and an interpretation center at village khoirantak of Indian Olympic women boxers & Rajya Sabha MP, Mary Kom in Manipur and Majuli Island in Assam.
Department of Tribal Welfare, MP Government organised a three day national seminar on Tribal Language, Culture and Development at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. Over 200 participants from various States of country participated in this seminar.
Participants visited Rock Art Shelters, Tribal Habitat, and galleries of Veethi Sankul at IGRMS. On this special visit to IGRMS, they were guided by Director of IGRMS, Prof Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri and Museum’s officials.
Under the Children’s Week, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under the celebrations of its Collaborative programme is organising various programmes and activities with Madhya Pradesh Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Bhopal (as from 9 am, Tree Plantation, Street Play and special visit of Indoor and open air exhibitions of IGMRS) at its premises on Sunday.
