Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Monday said that any incidence of illegal mining in the State will not be tolerated and warned of action against violators.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Public Relation and Grievances Committee at Sonipat, the Minister directed the officers to constitute a team of top officials to look into illegal sand mining matters and register an FIR against the persons found guilty.
Meanwhile, most of the grievances included in the agenda were resolved on the spot by the Minister. Apart from this, he also directed the officers for redressal of grievances other than those mentioned in the agenda. During the meeting, Usman, a resident of the Idgah colony, Sonipat complained about illegal lifting and selling of soil of drain No-8 and illegal mining, responding to this the Minister said that strict action will be taken against those involved in such unlawful activities.
While the residents of Hasanpur, Sonipat filed a complaint about two owners of Dhabas located on GT Road. The villagers said that the owners are releasing their dhaba water into the Panchayati land, which is polluting the groundwater as well as is polluting the environment.
