Minister to preside over grievances meet

Chandigarh: Haryana Cooperation, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Banwari Lal will preside over the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at Palwal on December 20. A spokesman said, the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee will begin on December 20 at 11 am in the Mahatma Gandhi Community Center and Panchayat Bhawan campus.

 

Inspection held at Hafed Oil Mill

Chandigarh: Chairman, Hafed, Subhash Katyal inspected Hafed Oil Mill Rewari and also carried out herbal plantations. Katyal, after conducting an inspection in the Hafed Sales and Marketing Department, said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Hafed should work in the direction of generating highest income, and all out efforts should be made for this purpose. He directed to achieve the sale target of Rs 3 crore of HAFED products in Rewari and increased it to 5 crore in the next financial year. District Manager and HAFED Oil General Manager assured to achieve the target.

Urban Transformation Summit held

Chandigarh: “The Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. has a focus on integrated development of the urban areas by keeping the restoration work of city heritage, making the city vibrant and clean, strengthening the infrastructure, and improving the service delivery. The CSCL has a vision to transform the urban development of the city with better infrastructure and improved digital services,” said KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh-cum-CEO, Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. during the “Urban Transformation Summit-Chandigarh” held here.  The one-day event organised by Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd. in association with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. had interactive sessions designed to put the spotlight on the emerging ideas in urban transformation and the use of information and communication technologies for urban development in the city.

 

2 proclaimed offenders arrested in Haryana

Chandigarh: Haryana Police has arrested two persons who were declared proclaimed offenders by the Court in separate cases from Rohtak district. Both accused were absconding and evading the arrest for a long time. A spokesman said, in a first case, Police has arrested Jaipal, a resident of Sector-10A, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, who was declared proclaimed offender by the Court in year 2017. Another proclaimed offender Bunty, a resident of Garhi Bohar presently residing at Tilak Nagar Rohtak, was arrested by the Police during a raid. A case relating to Arms Act was registered against him in year 2012. After coming out on bail in the said case, the accused absconded and did not appear in the Court, which declared him proclaimed offender in 2013.

 

Marathon from Delhi to ChANdIGARH concluded

Chandigarh: Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the State Legal Services Authority, UT Chandigarh organized the last leg of marathon/relay walk cum cycle tour to celebrate 70th anniversary of adoption of Indian Constitution  and for creating awareness about the fundamental duties among the citizens. A team of about 6 advocates from Delhi had started on December 7 from Delhi and after passing through Haryana and Punjab, the participants entered Chandigarh from Zirakpur.  On reaching Chandigarh, they were joined by advocates practicing at Chandigarh, Para Legal Volunteers, students and other sports enthusiast.  The marathon here was flagged off by  Mr. Justice Jaswant Singh, Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh from Sukhna Lake and concluded at ‘Open Hand Monument, Capitol Complex.
