SAIL units Badminton Tournament

Badminton tournament for employees and spouses of SAIL Units, Ranchi commenced on Jan 08 at Badminton Hall, SAIL Satellite Township. The tournament was inaugurated by S K Singh, ED I/C, RDCIS in presence of Kajal Das, ED (CET) and Ajay Arora, ED (RDCIS). Manas Rath, DGM I/C (P&A), K J Chauhan, DGM (F&A) and K K Verma were also present. S K Singh appreciated the overwhelming participation by employees and their spouses. Kajal Das and Ajay Arora encouraged the participants to play with true sportsman spirit. Total 58 players have been divided into 6 teams. Tournament will be played on league basis. In a league match, there will five games consisting 3 Men’s Double, 1 Mix double and 1 Women’s double.  Semi finals will be played among the top four teams. Winners of semi-finals will play final match.

Maths and Science Quiz at SBPS

Maths and Science Quiz was organised on the premises of Sarala Birla Public School here on Thursday. The students of Std.I & Std.II actively participated and manifested their knowledge about Maths and Science facts. Two participants from each house of Std. I & Std. II were selected for the final round. They answered questions based on 4 different rounds - question & answer round, audio round, video round and buzzer round. The participants displayed their confidence and talent to the best of their ability. First prize was bagged by Atharavaveda house, second prize by Yajurveda house and third prize was bagged by Samveda house.

Railway employee’s kids get award

A total of 29 children got appreciation letter and award for First, Second and Third position of Essay and Painting competition organised in September, 2018 and also Class 10 and Class 12 pass 16 children of Ranchi Zone railway employees are being awarded in the presence of South Eastern Railway Women Welfare Organisation Ranchi, President Vaishali Gupta. Those who got more than 80 per cent of marks have got Rs.2000 and those who got more than 90 per cent of marks got Rs 2,500.

OPS students shine in Science Olympiad

As many as 33 students from std VI to XII of Oxford Public School, Pragati Path, Ranchi achieved grand success in Science Olympiad Foundation Competitions and brought laurels to the school. In International English Olympiad, 22 students bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively. In International General Knowledge Olympiad, 11 students clinched Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively. After giving away the medals, Suraj Sharma, the Principal congratulated all the prize recipients and encouraged them to grab such opportunities to prove their mettle and hone their personalities. The Principal further called upon all the students to participate in such competitions actively and sincerely.

Workshop on cyber safety

Pragya’s Gurukul today organised a workshop on sensitising parents, teachers and students on issues of cyber safety.  The Guest of Honour, Famous Cyber-Crime Consultant & Educationist, Mansoor Ahmed addressed the workshop titled ‘Stay Safe Online/ Digital is Another Devil’.  He highlighted the increasingly relevance/usage of cyber-linked electronic gadgets in common life. The apprehended impact of cyber-crime on childhood was comprehensively elaborated. He outlined a battle-plan for combating this social menace. The session was closed after duly replying to queries from inquisitive guardians/ school-staff. The progress of each individual ward was extensively deliberated in the Parents-Teachers Meeting at closure of the second Academic Semester.  And joint-plans were formulated to further the present level of skill-sets in the next semester.

Travel & Tourism Bazaar Show in Ranchi

Travel and Tourism bazaar (TTB) started its journey in the year of 2008 with a few Travel professionals of Kolkata to create awareness as well as highlight the various aspects of Tourism. TTB has become one of the major Travel operating in the eastern part of the country consisting of Kolkata, Shillong and Ranchi. This year winter Travel Carnival “Travel and Tourism Bazaar’’ in Ranchi going to be organized from 12-14 January at The Kav’s (Harmu Bypass). On the occasion participating states are Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Himachal, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and others private Tour& Travels companies will participate in the three days Travel show said Deputy Director Rajasthan Tourism Ajit Singh during a press meet in Ranchi on Thursday.
