In Baleswar: Man attacks wife after uttering Triple Talaq

The Sadar police arrested 30-year-old youth Junal Khan of Jankhrai on the charge of attacking his 24-year-old wife Rashida brutally with a butcher knife after uttering Talaq thrice on Wednesday night.

Later, a grievously hurt Rashida was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital by her family members. She alleged that following a domestic feud, in a fit of rage her husband attacked her with a knife. Brother of Rashida, SK Mehtaz had lodged an FIR with the Haldipada outpost police.

Sources said Rashida had married Junal about six years ago and they have two children.

However, the couple frequently quarreled over different issues. Police after apprehending Junal forwarded him to court and he was sent to judicial custody following his bail petition was rejected.
