Close units for polluting rivers: Minister
Bhopal: Minister for Environment and Public Works Sajjan Singh Verma directed officials of the Pollution Control Board to initiate action to close those industrial units, which are polluting rivers of the state. He was addressing the Officers of the Pollution Control Board in a meeting held in Bhopal today. He specifically mentioned about those industrial units of Dewas and Nagda Industrial Area which are polluting Kshipra and Chambal river with their contaminated water. The Principal Secretary of the Environment Department Anupam Rajan has informed that units of Dewas and Nagda Industrial Area have been inspected and pollution was found in M/s Sun Pharma, Ltd., M/s Sharda Minerals and Chemicals Pvt Ltd, M/s Swastik International Pvt Ltd, M/s Keshav Industries Ltd, M/s Jaju Surgical Ltd, M/s Raj Pioneer Pvt Ltd, M/s Naveen Fluorine International Ltd and M/s HR Johnson Ltd. Closure notices have been sent to all these units by the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board. Legal action will be taken against them within 15 days if they do not give satisfactory reply in connection to solve the problem. Expressing concern over the pollution in Chambal river near Nagda, Verma gave instructions to the officers for regular monthly inspection of the industrial units. He also gave directives to conduct an inquiry into Cheerakhana Nala pollution caused by Pithampur Industrial area. The Member Secretary of Pollution Control Board AA Mishra was also present in the meeting.
Farmers to undergo eligibility test for loan waiver
Bhopal: Under the Chief Minister's Crop Loan Waiver Scheme, farmers will be required to present green, white and pink applications as per eligibility at the respective Gram Panchayat office. As per publication of the list of indebted farmers, according to the rules issued by the government, the farmers of the Aadhaar seeded list (green list) will have to submit green applications and the farmers of non-aadhar seeded list (white list) will have to submit white coloured applications. Color applications of farmers of green applications and non-base seed list (white list). The right to submit objection or claim on information displayed in the green or white list has been given to the farmers. For this, the farmer has to submit a pink application. The part –I in the pink application form has to be filled by only those farmers, whose names are not registered in the list displayed by the bank. Part –II will be filled by those farmers, whose information displayed by the bank is flawed.
New sugarcane policy to be formed
Bhopal: A new sugarcane policy will be formed in the interest of sugar producing farmers of the state. Agriculture Minister Sachin Yadav today gave this information during a discussion with the sugarcane growing farmers at Kisan Bhavan in Narsinghpur district. Seated amidst the farmers, Minister Yadav gave instructions to the officers concerned for immediate redressal of the problems of the farmers. He told that the order has been issued to ensure payment to farmers in maximum 14 days after the sale of sugarcane. In order to solve the doubts of the farmers in sugar recovery in sugarcane, Yadav instructed to send a team of officers from Bhopal. Agriculture Minister Yadav assured the sugarcane producing farmers of a fair price for their produce and said that this government is a government of the farmers. Prompt and speedy redressal of the problems of farmers will be ensured.
